Deals are the people contact or company prospects you have added to your sales automation software that have reached a deal stage in your pipeline. Deals can be manually created once a prospect reaches a certain stage in the process, or you can have them automatically created using the Zapier Integration. Deals can be associated with an individual contact, a list of contacts, and/or a company.
When present on the Deals List page, the layout will look very similar to that of the People/Companies Contacts List page and breaks up into essentially the same five main areas.
Deals List areas as shown in the image above...
Deal Details (Quickview List & Grid) - This area shows any deals under the current Search Query SmartList, or Filter(s) you are viewing, along with the associated deal properties you have selected in the Deals Details Columns. With no Search Queries SmartLists, or Filters selected, all of your deals will be present on the list in the Deal Details (Quickview List & Grid). If you select the Grid View, all deals will display in a grid rather than a list.
Bulk Deal Functions - This area allows you to perform a number of bulk functions to any number of deals. These functions include Bulk Property Edit/Deal Deletion, Export Data, Add to Static List.
Deals List Custom Field Settings - These settings allow you to (a) Customize Columns on the Deal Details (Quickview) area, (b) Customize Forms when manually adding a deal, (c) Create Custom Fields as properties within Uptics.
+Add Filter & Save (SmartList) - The filter option will let you narrow down your results further using multiple property values and attributes. The Filter is also where you can begin creating SmartLists (Saved Filters) by 'saving a filter' and clicking the 'Save' option to finish the SmartList creation.
Search Bar & Settings - The search bar lets you quickly search for any particular SmartList created. The 'Settings' option gives you the SmartList visibility and allows you to edit, delete and reorder them.
Differences from Contacts & Companies List Pages
As mentioned previously, the layout of the Deals List page is very similar to that of the People and Companies List page. You can apply the same fundamentals to the Deals List page that you learned in the Contacts List Overview article, in regard to the Contacts List page. Below I will point out the differences, broken up into each of the 5 main areas of the page.
Deal Details (Quickview List & Grid)
One difference here is the property fields that are present, by default, under the columns in the Quickview. These are deal-specific properties (like Deal Name, Deal Stage, Amount, etc), rather than the People/Company properties you have seen on the other Lists pages. These can be adjusted using the Deals List Custom Field Settings > Customize Columns. Another important difference to distinguish here is the Grid View, rather than just the List View that is present on the other Lists. The Grid View will allow you to see your deals broken up easily into your different Deal Stages, and allows for drag-and-drop functionality.
Bulk Deal Functions
This area does not have all the functionalities as that of the People and Companies List pages. It does not have the Bulk Email/SMS/Sequence/Power Dialer/ Tag functions but has the Bulk Edit, Delete, Export Data, and Add to Static List functions.
Deals List Custom Field Settings
This area has the same functionality as that of the People and Companies List pages, except the changes you make are respective to only the Deals List page.
+Add Filter & SmartList (Saved Filters)
This Filter and SmartList area have the same functionality as that of the People and Companies List pages. The one thing to make note of here is that each Lists page (People, Companies, and Deals) has its own SmartLists, meaning that you won't be able to access your People or Companies SmartLists under your Deals SmartLists, and vice versa.
Search Bar & Settings
This area has the same functionality as that of the People and Company List pages.
SmartLists (Saved Filters)
This area has the same functionality as that of the Contacts List page. The one thing to make note of here is that each Lists page (Contacts, Companies, and Deals) has it's own SmartLists, meaning that you won't be able to access your Contacts or Companies SmartLists under your Deals SmartLists, and vice versa.
