Sending a Test SMS

Steps to send an SMS test in Uptics

The 'Send Test' SMS feature inside an 'SMS Template' is very helpful. To send a test SMS, you have to type in a 'Template Name', assign the template to a 'Folder' and write 'Your Message' in the input fields provided. You also have the option to use 'Tags', 'Snippets', or 'Snippet Groups' within an SMS Template.

Once the SMS Template has been sent, it will be sent from your configured Twilio 'Phone Number' to your profile 'Phone Number' within Uptics. You can then preview the message to see how it looks and make any necessary adjustments within your Uptics SMS Template. This feature is helpful as it leaves no margin for error when sending Bulk SMS's to clients.

Steps to Send a Test SMS:

  • When logged into Uptics, you can 'Add' an 'SMS Template' by clicking the '+SMS' option at the top right-hand side corner of the screen when under the 'SMS' tab on the 'Outbound' page.

  • You can also 'Update' an existing template on the 'Outbound' page under the 'SMS' tab by clicking to edit the template as shown below.

  • While inside a template, you can make any necessary adjustments and click the 'Update' button to save the changes. Then click the 'Send Test' option highlighted in the below screenshot.

  • In doing so, an SMS is sent to your profile phone number with the contact selected properties.
