The Bulk Contact Functions area of the Contacts List page allows you to perform a number of bulk functions to any number of contacts. These functions include bulk email sending, bulk SMS sending, bulk sequence enrollment, bulk property edit for contacts, bulk contact deletion, bulk email address validation, bulk export of data, create/search tags, and using the power dialer.
To perform any of these functions mentioned above follow the steps as below. There are 2 rules of thumb to keep in mind before moving ahead:
Using your currently propagated List, Filter, or SmartList - If you do not have any contacts selected using the 'Contact Selection Checkboxes' off to the left side of the Contact Details Quickview, performing any Bulk Contact Action will pull in all contacts that are present on the current page, as well as taking into account any filters or search queries you have entered.
Use the Contact Selection Checkboxes - If you use the checkboxes to the left of the Contact Details Quickview on the Lists page, the software will perform the Bulk Contact Function(s) for all the contacts that are checked.
Send (Bulk Email, SMS, and Sequence)
The 'Send' dropdown highlighted in the above screenshot has three functions: Bulk Email, Bulk SMS, and Sequence. With all of these functions, you will be able to determine the email/phone number that the message is sent from, as well as include a message template in the body. You will notice there will be some discussion of Message Templates and Sequences in this article - these will be covered in great detail in other articles.
Below are examples of the pop-up that appears when performing these functions using your contact lists. After filling out the fields of pop-ups, you will be able to 'Preview' the messages that will be sent out. Pay attention to any tags or references you may have built-in your template, as this will show you if there are any errors on your template or within a contact record.
Below are examples of the pop-ups that appear when performing these functions using your lists. After filling out the fields on the corresponding pop-ups, when you select the 'Preview' button for any of these functions you will be prompted with a screen to review all messages that will be sent out. Pay attention to any tags or references you may have built-in your template, as this will show you if there are any errors on your template or within a contact record.

Power Dialer/Bulk Call
The Power Dialer allows you to pull up a list of contacts that you want to dial and the system will start at the top and work its way down the list. You call an entire List, Filter, or Search Query SmartList without having to manually initiate a call to each contact. This will save you and your team a lot of prospecting time, and help force the process of making prospecting calls and ultimately hitting your dial/call targets.
You don't have to click any buttons or open up Contact Detail pages to start a call. In the Admin Settings under Email & Phone > Phone & SMS Settings > Power Dialer, you can set a "Delay" between calls and Uptics will autostart the next call for you accordingly. This allows you to leave notes and disposition the call, but Power through your list!
Once you have the list you would like to make and log phone calls to, simply selecting an option from the 'Power Dial' dropdown will initiate the Power Dialer.
When you select the dropdown you have the option to 'Continue' or 'Start Over'. 'Continue' would be used if you would like to resume where you left off the last time you were using the Power Dialer, whereas 'Start Over' will begin at the top of the list.
Once you initiate the Power Dialer, each new call will open up that respective contact record on the Contact Details pop-up page and open up a Call Log for you to enter any relevant notes from the call. When the call ends, you will want to ensure you press the 'Save' button on the Call Log after recording any applicable notes.
You will see the time remaining on the Power Dialer Buffer on the bottom middle of the screen, letting you know how long until the next call begins. You will want to ensure you are entering any log notes into the log before this time expires. If you find you need more time, you can always 'pause' the Power Dialer, 'exit' the Power Dialer, and/or adjust the Power Dialer Buffer Time under the global Phone Settings. On the contrary, if you are ready to jump to the next call on the list, you can 'start' the next call with a click of a button.
Here's a quick 'Power Dialer' demonstration video.
Tag (Adding or Bulk Removing Tags)
This feature allows you to create a 'New Tag' and apply it to a list of contacts. You can filter the list of contacts you want to apply the tags to. If there are any imports that you want to assign a 'Bulk Tag' to just for segmentation purposes, you can use the 'Import Tag' which also falls under tags. Here's a quick demonstration video on 'Creating and Applying Tags to contact records'.
This feature also allows you to Bulk remove Tags. Here's another video on 'Adding and Bulk Removing Tags'.
More (Bulk Edit, Delete, Validate Emails, Export Data)
The 'More' dropdown highlighted in the below screenshot has five functions: Bulk Edit, Delete, Validate Emails, Export Data, Add to Static List.
Bulk Edit
The Bulk Edit feature allows you to edit a specific property value or attribute across multiple contacts. This will be most useful if you have a list of contacts (or a selected number of contacts) that you need to change the Lead Type, Lead Source, or Lead Status on, however, you may also bulk edit the following properties: First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Email, Phone Number, Secondary Phone Number, Tags, Job Title, Facebook, Twitter, Job Function, Industry, Company Website, About, Street Address, City, State/Region, Country, Postal Code, LinkedIn. You will find that in 99% of cases you will be bulk editing the Lead Type, Source, or Status.
Once you have identified the contacts you'd like to edit a property for, click the Bulk 'Edit' button on the Contacts List page under the 'More' dropdown option and follow the pop-up prompts by choosing the property field you'd like to edit and enter the value or attribute you'd like the property changed to.
Bulk Delete
The Bulk Delete feature allows you to delete one or more selected contacts using the contact selection checkboxes. Simply press the 'Delete' option once the contacts are selected on the page, confirm the contact records deletion number on the pop-up, and your contacts will be removed from the software database.
Bulk Validate
This uses our ZeroBounce integration to run email validation for the selected contact records. You can use the search function, filter function, or a saved SmartList to run a limited number of email validations specific to a segment of your choosing, or you can run the validation on all of your contacts. Email validation is important for your domain's reputation, and you will want to avoid sending to emails that are not returning as "valid".
Before selecting this function, you will want to determine what exact emails you would like to validate. To do this, you can take a few different approaches. First, using the Contact Checkboxes off to the left side of the screen, you can select any number of contacts you would specifically like to run a validation on. Second, if you choose not to select a checkbox and run email validation for every contact within that list, search query, filter, or SmartList, you can simply click the 'Select All' checkbox.
Once you have determined the contacts whose email addresses you'd like to validate, then click the 'More' option and choose 'Validate Emails'. Upon selecting, a confirmation window will appear. Click on 'Yes, Verify', and the email address(es) will be validated. This action cannot be undone.
Bulk Export Data
The Export Data feature allows you to bulk export selected contacts using the contact selection checkboxes. You also have the option to select 'All Contacts'. Simply click the 'Export Data' option once the contacts are selected on the page.
If you have no search queries entered, no filters established, or no SmartLists (Saved Filters) selected, the export function will export all contacts you have in the software. You can use the search function, filter function, or a saved SmartList to limit the export of a more defined list of contact records in your system.
Upon selecting this function, proceed by selecting what fields you would like included on your export.
The 'Selected Fields' choice will output only the properties that you currently have visible on the Contact Details (Quickview) section on the Contacts List page, whereas the 'All Fields' choice will output all properties that are present in the system.
Bulk Add to Static List
The Add to Static List feature allows you to bulk add contacts to a Static List using the contact selection checkboxes. You also have the option to select 'All Contacts'. Simply click the 'Add to Static List' option once the contacts are selected on the page. In doing so, you have to option to add the contacts to an existing static list or create a new one.
