How to Setup Email WarmUp with Gmail Accounts

Learn about connecting your Gmail inbox to Uptics using IMAP/SMTP & an App Password for Email Warming

To connect your Gmail inbox to the email warming (WarmUp) functionality inside Uptics, you'll need to connect your inbox using your SMTP/IMAP credentials along with an App Password.

Only your WarmUp emails will be sent via SMTP/IMAP. When you send regular emails with your Gmail Account we use the Google API.

Please note: Currently, the SMTP/IMAP configuration is only required for Google Accounts. For other email providers, you may simply turn on the toggle to activate WarmUp!


Step 1: Ensure 2-Factor Authentication in Google Workspace Admin is activated.

  1. Follow instructions in this Google Article to turn on 2-factor authentication for your entire Google Workspace.

  2. Users connecting their email inboxes, will then need to turn on 2-step verification for their email inboxes.

Step 2: Create an App Password to connect with SMTP/IMAP

To connect a Google Account with SMTP/IMAP for email warmup, an App Password is required.

Steps to Generate an App Password

  1. Visit this URL: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

  2. Enter: "Uptics" as the app name

Copy the App Password:

Enter the App Password Into the SMTP/IMAP Credentials, then click Save:

Activate WarmUp by clicking the On/Off Toggle:

You will receive a WarmUp email notification if activating WarmUp was successful:

Congrats, your email is now warming!
