Introduction
We're excited to introduce our Unlimited Email Inbox feature, exclusively available for our newly listed Prospect, Engage, and Convert plans at Uptics.
With this exciting upgrade, we need to make some important changes to our entire backend emailing infrastructure to ensure a seamless experience for all our users, and we will require that all email accounts connected in Uptics must be re-authenticated before January 15, 2024, or the inboxes will be disconnected until the re-authentication occurs.
This article will guide you through re-authenticating your email accounts and explore the ramifications of different scenarios related to this transition and the timing of your re-authentication.
Re-Authentication Process
Re-authenticating your email accounts is a straightforward process. Follow these steps for each connected email account before January 15, 2024 to ensure uninterrupted email functionality:
Visit your Email Accounts Page: https://app.uptics.io/accounts/grid.
Reauthenticate Your Email Accounts: Click the 'Reauthenticate' icon (a person icon with a checkmark) next to each connected email account. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-enter your password and authorize the account.
Scenario 1 (Ideal): Re-Authenticate before January 15th, 2024
If you re-authenticate your email accounts before January 15th, 2024, and continue with your existing subscription plan, there will be no major ramifications. Note: replying to older emails may start a new thread (see the section below regarding how older email threads will be handled).
If you plan to migrate to one of the new Unlimited Inbox plans, completing the re-authentication process is advisable before the migration.
Prospects will continue to receive messages sent from your sequences and replies from your prospects will sync into your Uptics Account within the same thread.
Replying to existing email threads will work seamlessly, and replies from prospects will sync into your Uptics Account.
Scenario 2: Migrate to a new Unlimited Inbox Plan before January 15th, 2024 without first Re-Authenticating
If you migrate to an Unlimited Inbox plan before January 15th, 2024, without re-authenticating your email accounts, the email accounts will be automatically disconnected and need to be re-authenticated.
Sequences will not send and new replies will not sync during the period when your inboxes are not authenticated inside Uptics after the subscription plan migration. Thus, it is ideal to re-authenticate before you migrate.
After re-authenticating post-migration, prospects will continue to receive messages sent from your sequences.
You can reply to existing email threads, and replies will resume syncing from the point you re-authenticate forward into your Uptics Account.
Scenario 3 (Not Ideal): Re-Authenticate after January 15th, 2024
If you wait until January 15th, 2024, or later to re-authenticate, the email accounts will be automatically disconnected and will need to be re-authenticated.
Emails from sequences will not be sent out until re-authentication occurs.
Any email replies from January 15th until you re-authenticate may not sync into Uptics. Once re-authenticated, this could potentially cause subsequent steps in a sequence to be sent out for particular prospects who had replied but did not sync when the connection was down.
After re-authenticating, prospects will continue to receive messages you have scheduled to send from your sequences.
Replies will resume syncing from the point you re-authenticate forward into your Uptics account.
How will older email threads be handled?
For all scenarios above, once you re-authenticate, messages from each connected email account from the last 30 days, or the last 1000 sent messages and 1000 received messages, whichever is lower or reached first, will be threaded inside of Uptics and you will be able to reply to these threads seamlessly.
Messages that are not within the 30-day or 1000 email threshold, but are later replied to by a prospect after re-authentication, will come through as a new message in your Uptics Account (not in the same thread) and will be able to be replied to.
If you attempt to reply to an older reply from a prospect that is not within the 30-day or 1000 email threshold, this will start a new message thread to the prospect.
