From within any sequences specific settings, you have the ability to send follow-up emails as a reply in the same thread from that sequence.
When this setting is turned on, Uptics will ensure that all emails in the sequence are sent from the same sender inbox, and all messages in the thread will assume the same subject line as the original message in the thread.
You will also notice that when that setting is turned on, the emails inside of Uptics will be shown and grouped together in the same thread when you open up any Contact Detail Popout and review the history for a contact that is receiving emails from you. With this setting turned off, you will see each outbound email as a separate entry.
How are the email threads handled?
Different email servers can handle threading (the organization of emails into conversations) differently. For example, in Microsoft Outlook, similar messages may not always by default be grouped as a conversation (more on that here), and we cannot control if this setting is turned on or not.
Threading is a feature that is implemented by email clients and servers, and the exact way in which it works can vary depending on the email client or server being used. When emails are sent through Uptics, threading is obeyed based on the email server.
In general, the email threading will occur as shown in the screenshot below, which is a series of emails in a sequence, set to send in the same thread from Uptics.
It moves it to the top of the inbox each time a new email is sent out, and it has the number of emails to the right to denote there have been, for instance, 3 emails in this thread.
When you choose to send emails in the same thread via the settings inside of Uptics, each email will assume the email subject from the initial email sent in the thread. There is not currently a means to have the Re: added in front of the subject, unless you have the above setting turned off and include this in the subject line of your subsequent emails. In this approach, however, it would be advised to only have one sender inbox in the sequence, to ensure all emails come from the same inbox.
At the moment, there are no options to change the way the threading works (with the exception of having the above setting turned on or off in a sequence).
Uptics does not currently support the email string/chain feature where all the original or previous emails show appended to the follow-up email in each subsequent email send.
You may submit a feature request if you are looking for additional thread options and we would be happy to consider additional options to add into the system's functionality.
